Blockhenge Completes Lightning Node Migration to AWS

Voltage provided us with a reliable platform for operating our Lightning infrastructure over the past several years, and we appreciate their support throughout that time and during this migration”

AUSTIN, TX, UNITED STATES, October 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Blockhenge has completed the migration of its Lightning Network node infrastructure from Voltage’s self-service hosting platform to Amazon Web Services (AWS), following Voltage’s decision to discontinue its self-service offering.

Blockhenge had used Voltage’s self-service Lightning node hosting platform since early 2024. Following Voltage’s announcement that it would sunset its self-service infrastructure, Blockhenge began transitioning its node operations to AWS.

The migration included all four of Blockhenge’s Lightning Network nodes: three infrastructure nodes and one dedicated receiving node. Coordination between the Blockhenge and Voltage teams helped complete the transition with minimal downtime.

“Voltage provided us with a reliable platform for operating our Lightning infrastructure over the past several years, and we appreciate their support throughout that time and during this migration,” said Dustin D. Trammell, CEO of Blockhenge.

The new AWS deployment distributes Blockhenge’s Lightning infrastructure across multiple geographic regions, including us-east-1, us-west-2, and eu-central-1.

This distributed architecture reduces dependence on any single geographic location and provides greater resilience and redundancy in the event of a regional infrastructure disruption or failure.

The migration also gives Blockhenge greater control over the infrastructure supporting its Lightning operations while maintaining the reliability required for its Bitcoin and Lightning services.

Organizations looking to deploy, migrate, or strengthen their Bitcoin and Lightning Network infrastructure can learn more about Bitcoin integration and infrastructure services on Blockhenge’s website.
