Storms in North Texas Kill At Least Two People

(MENAFN) At least two people have died in North Texas in the United States after intense storms moved through the region over the weekend, authorities said, according to reports.

The National Weather Service confirmed that two tornadoes struck on Saturday night as severe weather systems hit Wise and Parker counties, causing extensive destruction and forcing dozens of families to leave their homes.

In the Runaway Bay area of Wise County, one person was killed, several others were injured, and around 20 families were displaced after widespread damage impacted multiple residential areas, according to reports.

In nearby Parker County, another fatality was recorded after powerful rear flank downdraft winds affected an area south of Springtown, officials said.

The Parker County Sheriff’s Office stated that a woman called emergency services on Saturday after discovering a relative inside the wreckage of a storm-damaged home on Hutchenson Hill Road. Emergency responders later confirmed the death of a 69-year-old woman. Her identity has not yet been released, according to reports.
