DPS Locates Wanted Felony Suspect Following Automatic License Plate Reader Alert in Dallas (North Texas Region)

DALLAS – On March 3, 2026, at 2:30 p.m., a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Trooper was patrolling on Frankford Rd near the Dallas North Tollway when the Trooper received an automated license plate reader alert of a vehicle whose registered owner had active felony and misdemeanor warrants. The Trooper located the vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The driver refused to stop and fled to the 4100 block of Firebrick Lane in Dallas, where he barricaded himself in a residence. The Dallas Police Department SWAT responded to the scene and entered the residence, but the suspect absconded before SWAT’s entry.

On March 4, 2026, following coordinated efforts, the DPS Criminal Investigations Division (CID) located and arrested the suspect without incident.

The suspect, 29-year-old Justin Givens of Dallas, Texas, was booked into the Dallas County Jail for two felony warrants from the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) for Manufacture and Delivery of Controlled Substance, a misdemeanor warrant from the DCSO for Evading Arrest, and a misdemeanor warrant from DPS for Evading Arrest.

This investigation is ongoing, and no additional information is available.
